'believe in your own magic' Oracle

This week's card pull and deck review from my deck collection, is one that my friend Tania popped in my collection. The believe in your own magic Oracle offers guidance from a diverse group of feminine characters. This deck is by Amanda Lovelace with artwork by Janaina Medeiros and published through Andrews McMeel Publishing.

I would classify this one as a deck for teen to mid twenties girls. The writing is all lower case, younger in both style and substance and has an inclusive body type imagery. The only thing to be aware of, is that there is only one male -and he is portrayed as a shark enticing a mermaid. ouch.

The artwork, of this deck, like their other deck (The Cozy Witch Tarot), is very whimsical, colourful, diverse (women) and fun. The deck has a real teen to young adult vibe and the writing is what you would expect to hear from an overly protective (and angsty) teen -24ish bff with little life experience, -which, tbh we all need at times right? The pure, unbridled, elemental energy of prepubescence can give you a good healthy dose of fire just when you need it. Especially when you are in a transitional stage.

THIS WEEK'S CARD PULL

The deck would be a really great gift for someone going through a breakup, personal reflection, or just to build confidence.

The 50 page book is pretty cute. I love the copper foil accents. Inside is black and white with images of the cards, the name, a phrase and message. They are great for quick message and can be interpreted by the phrase or the images.

The 45 cards are standard oracle size, in full colour nice and thick and slide easily, even with a matte finish. The backs are all the same design of a cute, coppery, rose-gold crown on black.

The face images are all unique artwork, a variety of girl-witches in different spaces with a lot of emotion captured in the artwork; the faces, body movement and background all add to the flow and story. I really love the artwork, the characters are just so amazing. The card face also has the name and number, and a phrase which is great for that quick message or you can read the book or intuit the image for further clarity. They used so many colours in the artwork too, with nature colours and again, they are nice and moody.

The box is a nice small and sturdy and thin, in full colour and plain interior that will last well. Again, nice and easy to open, which is great if you are clumsy like me.

I definitely would recommend this one for your youthful collector, or those who love the nostalgia of their youth. Oh, and it definitely works great with the deck I wrote about last week, that I mentioned above, because they work so well together. Hopefully, I will write about a super-duper, gorgeous one next week, that is on back order with my lovely friend Denita of The Woowoo Shop. Otherwise I will pick one that calls me.
