For the past couple months I have been slowly creating patterns for a large custom order. My dear friend Phillip challenged me to make some character hats in Pride colours and gave me creative freedom to make them however I wanted.
He chose the animals and the colours and I took it from there. This was by far the most fun I have had with an order to date. From concept sketch to final stitch this was such a great challenge for me creatively. Working with Phillip was a perfect combination of professionalism and sexy chaos. He is so much fun and I really miss hanging out with him since moving to New Zealand 13 years ago.
He is also a professional and kicked my ass as far as not taking my many art forms seriously. It was something I needed, and this whole process inspired great growth for me, not only in my design process, but in my business vision.
His appreciation for my work is such an uplifting and refreshing boost for me in accepting how much I love designing things, especially something that means a lot to another person, or builds a bond between them.
He has his hats now so I am free to post all but one -as it has not yet been delivered to the recipient. But I will add it here as soon as I can.
