Earth & Bone Oracle

This week's card pull and deck review from my deck collection, is one of the unique decks in my collection. The Earth & Bone Oracle offers guidance from a natural balance of duality. This deck is by Sirian Shadow published through Rockpool Publishing.

I would classify this one, as a deck for those ready for self reflection. The writing is like talking to your best male friend -the hubby in my case. He always has sage advice just when I need it most. You know those times, when reality slaps you upside the head and you fall into old patterns of fear - then someone says one small sentence and it all disappears again and you regain your equilibrium. Yeah. it's is like that. A great little deck.

The artwork, of this deck, I would describe as is gothic or dark fairy tale, I love the imagery. It is nice to see animal skeletons included as well as human, to remind us of that interplay and connection to life and death. The deck has a real thinking persons deck, If you are into self-reflection and not afraid of looking at all aspects of an issue, you will like this one. Being written and designed by a Sirian Shadow, who is a Psychic and Reader himself, adds a great depth to the card via the phrase words. These can be read with the book or just used intuitively. They are great for a 3 card spread and could be used for writing or journal prompts as well.

THIS WEEK'S CARD PULL

The deck would be a really great gift for a reader or someone wanting to develop their intuitive reading abilities.

The 106 page book is really nice. Inside is in full colour with images of the cards, the name, a few key words, a message and an affirmation. There is a Table of contents, an introduction, cleansing methods, a couple spreads, the card meanings and about the author.

The 42 cards are standard oracle size, in full colour nice and thick and slide easily, even with a matte (semi-gloss?) finish. The backs are all the same design; an outer swirl pattern for framing, a full moon with an animal skull, blue roses and butterflies on black. The BEST part is the metallic Teal edging. I used to have a Dodge Stealth in that colour!

The face images are all unique artwork, a variety of gothic characters in different spaces with a lot of animals, flora, fauna, skulls of all sorts. I really love the darker artwork, the characters are interesting and macabre. The card face also has the name and number, and a few key words which is great for that quick message or you can read the book or intuit the image for further clarity. They used dark and moody colours in the artwork too, with nature colours and a lot of blacks, brown and grey which work great with the teal.

The box is a standard Rockpool Oracle box, in full colour and patterned interior that will last well. Again, nice and easy to open, which is great for small, fumbly fingers like mine.

I definitely would recommend this one for your skull loving collector, or those who love the dark fairy tale, gothic vibe. I like using this one alone, but it also works great with my Supernatural Tarot. (Yes!, it is based on the show.)
