Lenormand Fortune Telling Cards

Updated: Mar 30, 2023

This week's card pull and deck review from my deck collection, is the Lenormand Fortune Telling Cards based upon the book Kartenlegen mit Mademoiselle Lenormand (Reading cards with Mademoiselle Lenormand) by Erna Droesbeke, Parsifal-Verlag, Antwerpen 1987.

Feel free to choose one card pile below. Come back on Thursday and scroll to the bottom for card and crystal meanings.

Card 1: Strawberry Obsidian

Card 2: Blue Obsidian

Card 3: Pyrite Serpentine

Card 4: Ruby Zoisite

This deck is a pretty small deck, pocket size- so very cute to use and carry in your handbag or pocket. It is it's own system which can take some time to study, but it is always great to learn new divination systems.

The colours are very basic, and the artwork is mostly Victorian in style, but with some colours thrown in that you wouldn't have found then. It is different in that it has the card as well as the playing card suits of hearts, clubs, spades and diamonds, which relate to areas of life just like the tarot suits do.

It is a typical Lenormand deck with the basic meanings and you can definitely see the dating by the words and phrases as well as the more negative aspects of the cards which aligned to the time period in which they were created in the 1700- 1800 (There are many thoughts on the source.)

Though they were named after her, they appear to have been already in existence in Germany and other places at that time. Feel free to do your own research and form your own opinions if you want to know more. Mary K Greer has some awesome information here.

There are the Standard 36 cards of a Lenormand deck, which are tiny and easy to shuffle. On the front is the card artwork, number and name, and and suit. It takes some getting used to the symbology, but they are worth learning.

There are 28 pages in the little white book. It is in black and white and has the card name a short message, and a couple ways to read the cards. Also there is a Cross of Destiny Spread and examples of how to read it.

This is a cute addition to your collection if you are interested in having a few different types of cards to choose from.

REVEAL AND CARD MEANINGS WILL BE POSTED BELOW ON THURSDAY, SO RETURN THEN TO FIND YOUR CARD AND CRYSTAL CHOICE, AND SEE WHAT MESSAGE SPIRIT HAS FOR YOU.

I have just finished creating my first Tarot Deck with local artist, David Keen; The Lawless & Keen Tarot Project is now available for purchase. This is an art project deck, so is hand made and ready for you to learn about the tarot as you customize your own version of our deck! Just click on the deck or message with any questions.
