Seasons of the Witch: Samhain Oracle

This week's card pull from my collection is from the Seasons of the Witch: Samhain Oracle by Lorriane Anderson & Juliet Diaz with illustration by Giada Rose.

The artwork in this deck is what really drew me. There are three decks so far in this series, each with the same art style, and text but slightly different. My favourite element has to be the edge guiding, these have a deep blood red metallic edging. The others have a yellow gold and deep green.

It is a unique deck, and feels a bit confusing until you get to know it better. At first glance of the book, it seemed like fragmented witchy lingo as far as the text, but still has advice to offer any seeker who can look past the confusing writing. I do love that they have included some recipes and other fun elements in the card meanings, I can't wait to try the pumpkin bread recipe!

The artist does gorgeous watercolour images. The art and design alone, makes these decks worth adding to your collection. The dark muted colours and spooky art style are so cool and have a lot to offer just on their own. There are some familiar faces in them as well, which is always fun to see.

This would be a great deck for a anyone who enjoys dark forest, scary themes and the artistic element of decks. The set is a must have for my personal collection and I am looking forward to the next version when it comes out next year.
