Sit With Me

I will sit with you in your outrage.

Will you sit with me in my peace?

Let me hold your hand in your turmoil.

Can you hold your tongue, and just cease?

Cease to be angry; projecting your pain,

from rhetoric that's poisoned your mind.

We're being spoon-fed anger and strife,

And the degradation of humankind.

Humanity is going through a great shift.

Each choosing which way they will go.

They can evolve with kindness and love,

or succumb to a dogmatic ego.

Ego fuels the mind, with division and angst,

Feigned superiority over all it would judge.

Compassionate people with their hearts alight,

carry a strength that would never begrudge.

Begrudging another cannot bring you peace,

It breeds only more fear and disdain.

While compassion allows a space for us all,

Free of hatred, separation and pain.
