The Everyday Witch's Familiars Oracle

Updated: Jan 14

This week's card pull and deck review from my deck collection, is a cute deck that I think is so sweet. The Everyday Witch's Familiars Oracle offers guidance from the familiars to the Witches in both, the Everyday Witch Tarot and Oracle decks! Of course I had to have it! I couldn't resist when it came out so I immediately bought one from my amazing friend Denita at the Woo-woo Shop. This deck is by Deborah Blake with artwork by Elisabeth Alba and published through Llewellyn Worldwide.

I love animal decks. Animals are some of our greatest teachers and guides. I find it very cool the way they have done this deck for three reasons; first, they have included mythological beasts -which is excellent! Next, they have the animals divided into the elements like in a tarot deck, which really adds a whole new layer to the card meanings. And lastly, the artwork, (like all of their decks so far) is just so whimsical, colourful, diverse and fun.

Feel free to choose a card (or couple of cards) below. Come back on Tuesday and scroll to the bottom for card and crystal meanings.

Leave a comment below with your card choice(s) so I know you are here and can say Hi! Feedback is also a great way to work your intuition and learn to trust it. I am also happy to help clarify your card in regard to you individually with the help of spirit of course.

Also, anyone who shares the blog post on Facebook goes into the draw for a free 3 card personal reading. Please let me know you have shared.

As I said above, I really like the way the cards are divided into elements is such a great way to really drive home the messages of the animals. They have colour coding as well for the pages in the book. The groups are Earth/ Green, Air / Blue, Fire / Amber, Water / Pale Blue and Spirit / Very Light Blue. Spirit is the Mythical section. I know right?! So very cool.

I did not even wait until I got home to meet this deck. I opened it in the car! I had to have a peek through the cards straight away. I then read the whole book and greeted each card when I got home. It is a small but powerful little deck with such cute artwork.

The 105 page book has nice thick pages. It is a beautiful little book with full colour images of the cards, a bit about the animal, a 'Divination' and a 'Message.' This is one that you will likely use often for quick messages and would get a clear answer. You could pull a card and meditate upon if you sat with the card just a few moments. You could use it as a secondary to a tarot deck and pull for more clarity. It is also great for daily readers or for use with clients.

The 40 Cards are standard Oracle size, full colour nice and thick and slide easily, even with a gloss finish. The backs are all the same blue sky with stars design as the other decks in this series, but with a twist. This deck has a turtle and fox joining the cat on the back. Super cute concept to tie them all in together -and still be able to tell them apart on a table if you used more than one of the Everyday Witch decks.

The face images are all unique artwork, with the animals in a variety of cool settings; some natural and some are sacred places, an apothecary, library, outdoor alter, etc. They are just so fun too explore. The face also has the element /suit a number and the animal name. They used so many colours in the artwork too, a huge pallet and nice and vivid.

The box is a nice small sturdy, typical Llewellyn Oracle Box with full colour and a dark grey interior with a lighter grey polygonal star pattern repeated. It is the same pattern as the outside of the box.

I definitely would recommend this one for your collection, because it is just so darned cute and great to work with. Heck, you may as well get the other two Everyday Witch decks - the Tarot and the Oracle, and use them all together! I use them all together and I even throw in the Cozy Witch Tarot by another creator which I will write about next week.

Also, my new book is available on Amazon. I only have one copy of the first run available, so let me know if you would like to purchase one - or just find the link on the front page to buy it through here. If you are in the US, you can get it on Amazon.com for us shipping. In NZ best to get from me as I have ordered a bulk lot for my upcoming workshops so that will save you quite a bit- especially with the exchange rate and shipping as they are right now. Those copies will be $25 each but not here until late February.
